The ’People Power’ icon Cory Aquino dies! This morning I was surprised with the news that Cory Aquino Dies! I’ve been monitoring the condition of ex-President of the Philippines Maria Corazon “Cory” Cojuangco Aquino popularly known as Corazon Aquino or ”Cory”.
This morning former Philippine President Corazon Aquino dies at age 76! She died of cardiopulmonary arrest after complications of colon cancer at the age of 76 on August 1, 2009, 3:18 a.m., at the Makati Medical Center.
“Our mother peacefully passed away at 3:18 a.m. (1918 GMT Friday) of cardio-respiratory arrest,” her son, Senator Benigno Aquino III, told reporters in Manila.
She’s been fighting for the cancer since March 2008, and the magnifacent lady never fails to her faith in the Lord. She died with thousands of people loving her!

My condolences to the family of our late Great President, Tita Cory Aquino. Tita Cory left magical footprints in every Filipino heart, for she was the only Filipino who was able to spark redemption torch of democracy in our land. Tita Cory epitomizes a hopeful revelation that power is weaker than strenght.
To the family of Tita Cory, I know how it is to see our beloved Mama battling Cancer, we have been there, that’s why, when there were masses for Tita, and during the masses, my tears fell rolling in my cheeks, when I learned that Tita Cory died, I was crying and crying and crying. Mahal namin si Tita Cory.
Our family was there during the People Power, because we believe what Tita Cory was fighting for. We were with her, we supported her all the way. Wala kaming nakita kay Tita Cory, ang voice niyang marinig lang namin na manawagan ng kahit ano panawagan, andian na kami. Ganoon namin kataas ang respecto kay Tita Cory.
When the late Senator Ninoy died, we were there, during the burial we mustered the rains, we patiently walked until our hero was finally laid to rest.
Tita Cory, we missed you, papano na ang Pilipinas natin mahal, ang ating inang bayan…no one can replace you….

Before 1986, the Philippines held the most number of mute people in the world numbering in millions, filipinos can see and hear the crimes being done by the dictator and its cronies but it has no voice or courage to speak against it. Then came Madam Cory, a simple loving housewife who brought back the true voice of the Filipino people. Thank you Madam Cory for bringing back to us the freedom to speak, we will remember you all through our life and we will pass your legacy to the next generation of Filipinos. Maraming salamat po!!!!
My heart mourns for the death of the MOTHER Of DEMOCRACY AND UNWAVERING FAITH. I would like to thank her for carrying out the fight which her husband have started. If not of her courage we would not enjoy the democracy we have for now…She set a good example of a woman of substance, courage, wisdom, humble but fighter for what she believes that will benefit the entire Filipino people. We have not lost a CORY AQUINO but her life is something we should emulate with…she will live forever in our hearts and in the books of history: that once there is a courageous woman who fought for our freedom but with humility and Gods direction and guidance…from generation to generation she will be remembered just like NINOY! to the AQUINO family you are blessed for having a parents like them..they were a part of our lives.

When Ninoy Aquino died and became our national hero, it was very difficult to find another “Ninoy” that would sacrifice his own life for the Filipino people. And now that President Cory died, i find it highly improbable to find a couple who have dedicated both their lives to all of us.Nevertheless, we thank our Lord God Almighty for blessing us in giving Ninoy and Cory that we maybe able to find genuine democracy in our country. I hope that what was awaken once again through the demise of Cory Aquino will not GO in vain AGAIN. In vain because, it seems that we just gained our freedom for a while, it is as if we are in the same scenario because of what is happening in our country.
We all love this country…i do. There is nothing like this Country because this is HOME. We are a great nation judging from what we’ve been through all those years, we are capable of being GREAT if we want to. We can unite easily, why can’t we always do this? Why can’t we love this country the way Cory does. It hurts me to hear foreigners who love Philippines more than we do.
Let’s capitalize on our strength, let’s do our part. WE MAY NOT CHANGE THE WHOLE WORLD….BUT WE CAN CHANGE OUR PART OF THIS WORLD.
This is a sad time for the country and, together, with other filipinos, I also grieve much for such a big loss. I hope and pray that with such a loss of a very important life, a new life and new hope will spring forth for the country. I believe God has a grand reason why such sad event happened at an untimely moment of our history. I know that in the future, we will all attain everything that Cory has so long dreamed for the country. But this is only possible if we learn to go beyond ourselves and help rebuild a strong Philippines through the virtue of peace, teamwork and unity. This is the essence of true democracy – one thing which President Cory fought for so long a time.

nakikiramay po ako sa pamilya ng mga aquino.. i am still watching the live coverage of a people’s farewel.. nung nasa cchurch pa lang, superlungkot na po ako lalo na nung nagsalita si ms. kris aquino.. sobrang nakakatouch ang message nya.. naisip ko tuloy panu kung mangyari din to sa aking ina? kaya ko ba? narealize ko na dapat mahalin ang magulang ng sobra sobra dahil walang makakahigit sa pagmamahal ng isang ina..
though i dont know her personally, nararamdaman ko ng mabuting tao sya. pinaglaban nya ang nasimulan ng kanyang asawa kahit di pa ako pinapanganak nung people power 1.. i really appreciate ang kanyang nagawa..napakabuti nya sa anak, sa kanyang kakabayan at sa ating bansa..

Una sa lahat, taos puso naming pinaparating sa Aquino Family ang aming pakikiramay. Alam namin na masakit ang nararamdaman ng Aquino kasi even kami na hindi nila kapamilya ay nasaktan sa pagkawala ng Ina ng demokrasya. Masakit but we all know that this is the WILL OF GOD… we believe that God has a good plan for all of us. Sabi nga ng iba baka wake up call na naman ito ng Panginoon sa atin upang bantayan natin ang ating demokrasya.
Ma’am Cory we know that you are with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ right now and we respect and thank you for everything you have done. We would like to thank you for all the efforts and sacrifices you did.
As I know Mrs Corazon Aquino is the ONLY President I know that!

I would like to say something to one of the members of the Aquino family whom I had the privelege of sharing a brief moment when I went to the Manila Cathedral to my respects to her mother. I was soaking wet and there she was apologizing to us for the long hours of waiting outside. You can see her simplicity, very much like her mom. I am talking about Pinky, 2nd child of Tita Cory. I answered by saying it was worth it. When she was interviewed on her way to Manila Memorial Park, she mentioned the same thing that I told her. The circumstances that surround this brief encounter was very similar. I would like to believe that I was that person. That she remembered me. Now I am an admirer of Ms. Pinky Aquino. And when she told Ted Failon to just call her simply Pinky when Ted was addressing her as Ma’am Pinky. Such humility and simplicity truly put me in awe.
i give my Condolence to the Aquino family for the death of the former president Corazon Aquino. she is one of the worlds notable icon in the struggle for Democracy and Freedom.
