like any other viewer, i was shocked at first to hear that comment from willie simply because i too was overwhelmed with the outpouring of emotions for pres cory. however, i understand willie’s point. too bad for him, he chose the wrong words to say and he shouldn’t have announced it like that on national tv. i mean, there is always a more civil and appropriate action to take rather than blurt out in public whatever it is he had in mind. he could have waited til they went on commercial break and asked his staff to call the people responsible for airing the live feed on pres cory. willie should have considered that at this point, people are highly emotional about things related to pres cory so he should’ve thought about it more before he made the remark. but like i said, i understand his point that it is indeed confusing to the viewer to watch a very emotional video feed on one side while there’s a party going on on the other. i think abs-cbn should’ve somehow anticipated that something like that would happen in ayala and should’ve just cancelled regular programming temporarily to give way to the coverage. anyway, i hope this issue ends well.

Hah. I don’t blame the host because he obviously is so into himself that he cannot show respect to:

A) his bosses at ABS-CBN because 1) he might think that he owns the network? 2) he is devoid of decency and intellect. He is “bilib na bilib sa sarili” to the point that he made his network choose between his show and the events of national significance. 3) He cannot talk to them off the air because he has to grandstand everytime showing his audience that he can dictate his whims and if not will just throw tantrums like this one.
B) the late President Cory because he thinks her death is an interruption to his show. Maybe he is just so talented that he cannot “perform” if the attention is taken away from him.

I blame ABS-CBN for condoning this attitude. You created a monster.

Normally, his antics should just be ignored. Not this one ‘though. This is Tita Cory we are talking about. Should this go on, let us just BOYCOTT ALL ABS-CBN shows.

A decent entertainer would have handled this untimely pre empting in privacy with the people incharge of programming. The reaction that Mr. Revilllame had is totally of his charater. The man is rude and arrogant in his program. He is very disrespectful to his guests and audiences in many ways and people just buy this as a comedy routine. He is sarcastic and self loathing. So, his rambling for a minute or so about the live feed was totally unnecessary. I think Willie’s reaction was ok because the management should have known that Wowowee is a joyous show. they should have just cancelled the show for that day and aired the coverage of Cory’s cortege. Okay…some may defend him that he had a point when he said that..i agree on this….as he said how can they enjoy & continue the fun if the inset was showing scenes from Tita Cory’s transfer. He could have done it in a more mannered & respectful way like, he could have paused for a while or during commercial breaks. Yes, Willie has a point. sa mga maka willie dyan magsaya kayo. Oo its not proper to show on one side the kabaong ni cory and one side nagsasayaw. If he shows disappointments, ok fine.

On the other hand, is it too hard hard to control your emotion and blur out unecessary remarks over the air? And anong alibi ang plagi mo palalabasin, kesho nagpapakatotoo ka. Yes you are true to yourself pero it should come with professionalism.

The point is not HOW Willie Revillame stopped the airing of the inlet. What was wrong was that he even ordered to stop showing it. If he didn’t want the inlet to interfere with the show, HE SHOULD HAVE STOPPED THE SHOW, NOT THE INLET. That is how you show love and respect to Pres. Aquino. He should have said, “Lets pause for a moment and give way to the update on Pres. Cory Aquino’s cortege.” And by the way, why is he complaining that he can’t make people happy on his show? Arroyo declared a ten day of national mourning, the whole nation was indeed in mourning when he did a very disgraceful act of cutting the cortege of Tita Cory’s Paalam tribute. As I heard the news my initial reaction is that Willie have a point. Other programs give way to the live coverage of Tita Cory’s burial, he can also do it and he is willing to do it, however as per instruction by his bosses, he adhere to their instruction. It is truely very difficult to have a noontime show, dancing, shouting and joyfully host the show while you are seeing a very heart breaking event. He has a point, really!

Willie’s idea to have Pres. Cory’s livestream be removed is correct because let’s face it, it doesn’t look right for them to be celebrating while they show a prominent person’s death/funeral. However, I agree that he should have handled it differently. Like what the others said he could have done it during the break. I like Wowowee, but not Willie. I’ll be honest that he can be really funny at times and he does put a lot of work in the show, but his rudeness is inexcusable. I hate how he embarrasses the cast/staff and even the contestants. I also hate how he can manipulate who wins in the show depending on how he like or dislike the contestant.

Willie has no right to stay longer in ABS-CBN. Before I loved Mam Cory, I already idolized Ninoy. During the Martial Law days I was one of the young militants. When Cory came, We (my own family) joined the yellow group. We stood under the heavy downpour just to hear Cory’s messages. I joined as a volunteer for NAMFREL to see to its that Cory’s vote will be counted here in Mindanao.

ABS-CBN owes a lot to Cory for bringing back the station to its rightful owner.

While I agree that it is awkward to show the funeral’s video feed, where people are mourning over the passing of an icon, in a noontime show where people are laughing, playing games, joking, etc., the manner in which Willie handled the situation was unacceptable! My wife is an avid TFC subcriber as in keeps us up to date about Pinas. We watch recorded Wowowee regularly but I personally just advanced it when Willy sings and when the sensual dancers do their thing( it is a family show, lots of young kids watching the indecent dance numbers?)
We love Ninoy and Cory and what they sacrificed for our country. I come home from work at midnight and follow up on Tita Cory’s wake update till morning hour.
When I saw what Willy did, I was overwelmed with hate and anger to this ill-mannerd fellow who thinks the world owes him.
I believed, Tita Cory on her last moment with the mourning Filipino people did another miracle. She exposed the arrogance and true nature of this Willy to the Filipino people as she did when she was alive, to the corrupt politicians in the RP government, to get ousted from office.
To ABS-CBN management, especially to the Lopezes and Ms Charo Santos, I cannot understand how you can tolerate to air on TV worldwide indecent numbers in your Wowowee show, and mostly make Willy a show biz icon.
I always see the Lopez family and Ms Charo as devout God loving christians like Tita Cory. I pray and hope the glitter of money does not overcome your love of decency and morality by using an evil-like host like Willy Revillame.
I personnally asked all filipino friends I have in San Diego, Ca., and everybody have same sentiment about your “super-host” Willy.

for all the intelligent people who understand willie….MABUHAY KAYONG LAHAT…..ung ginawa ni willie na move ay dala lamang ng kanyang emosyon dahil sa laki ng respeto nya sa Aquino family. wala akong makitang mali sa ginawa nya…he was just the way he is…ang magpakatotoo sa kahit na kanino…may mga tao kasi na may iba’t ibang opinyon at paniniwala…ang masama lang masyado nilang pinalaki ang isyu…sabi nga ni kris aquino…end of story, pero ginagatungan pa rin nila ang isyu….SAYANG ang ipinaglaban nina Ninoy & Cory na filipinos are worth dying for….MTRCB dapat kau ang tumatayo sa gitna at hindi sa iisang panig lang ng kwento….dapat kayoi ang pinapalitan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

may punto po si willie, mali lang ang paraan/oras ng pagkasabi nya. pwede nga sanang between commercial break nya sinabihan ang kung sinoman ang namamahala ng airing ng cortege para di lumabas na pinakikita nyang mas priority ang show nya kesa sa once in a lifetime event na ito. mahirap talaga para sa kanya na nagpapatawa habang may nakapasok na ibang video showing the late president’s cortege. though minsan lang talaga ako nanonood ng wowowee as well as eat bulaga kasi nga may mga patawa sila na sa tingin ko ay nakakababa ng pagkatao ng mga pinatutungkulan nila ng jokes. sa maraming kasong na involve si willie proven or not siguro dapat magnilay-nilay siya to mend his ways and for the time being ABS-CBN management should take necessary actions regarding this incident. by the way i think ABS-CBN should be responsible also, since they said they will have a tribute for Tita Cory sana di na sila nagkaroon ng regular programming anyways si Tita Cory ang nagbalik sa kanila ng dapat ay sa kanila. Isang araw lang naman ang isasakripisyo nila. Kung walang wowowee non di sana nangyari ito or they trust willie so much and it never came to their mind na magagawa ni willie yon? tungkol sa mga kagaspangan ni willie . . . as i’ve said i’m not fond of watching wowowee but the few times i did – turn-off din po ako sa ibang gestures nya esp. sa mga girls…

A really talented and good host would be able to know how to adjust the tempo/climate of his show to suit the general climate di ba…When Francis Magalona died, all his co hosts showed up at the show – they all wore black – but the show went on…they were able to pull it through and still gave the respect that a co-host and friend deserved…Pwede naman gawin yon sa Wowowee – with or without that video stream, and this is Cory, the people’s beloved former President.

The show does not operate in a vaccum – it is part of the daily life of every Filipino…so it should make adjustments if called for and not cling on to a mindless entertainment formula. But you will fail to see it this way, if you see yourself in the center – right in the middle of it all. “It’s my way or the highway” – you make the adjustments not me.

I enjoy watching Wowowee – really, it makes me laugh. Kaya lang I am worried how all this fame and power and money go into the head of the host himself. It might destroy him, and if the arrogance continuous, it might be a very bad fall…A serious disciplinary action will do him a lot of good; if only to remind him that no one is indispensable and no one should behave as if he were.

I may have haters here but it was really a blasphemy for democracy. It may even be contradicting to this article, but it was really unethicalfor him to deliver it that way. I know I’m intelligent enough, but the way i looked at the situation was completely non-judgemental. It was thirly unprofessional.

He may had good intentions, but the delivery of that intention was very wrong.

ABS-CBN must teach him a lesson that he cannot forget.. how many times willie revillame violated the law.. I think 3 to 5 times.. my gosh.. The way he treated the dancers in his show was so disgusting and disrespectful.. Poor girls…hay…willie must be condemned… Teach him the good morals and virtue that a Filipino must have. If you have a problem with the word s****, you may change it to “h******” if that is what you prefer. My point is that the ladies on the Wowowee show should dress a little bit modestly because this is a variety show – kids watch it too and it is inappropriate for kids to see ladies dancing as if they were in a bar.
Again the bottom line is that ABS-CBN dropped the ball – BIG TIME….every one recognizes that or are they also in denial?

I dont see anything wrong in what willies did,, he has his point in doing that..he just do his job as a host Trabaho lang walang personalan.. Inggit lang kayong lahat na naghuhusga sa kanya..
kung anu man ang narating nya pinag hirapan nya lahat yun.. dont make cory’s burial as a reason para pamamukhang masama si willie..

Behavior like Willie’s should not be tolerated especially by management – not in this day and age!
What we really want is for Willie to treat everyone with respect – and not ridicule people and his staff the way he does on his show. Let us get back some decency in a show that is widely watched by many…..otherwise you’ll loose your audience. Set a good example.
And pleeeeeeaaase Willie, ENOUGH with your singing! (and I really mean it!)
Leave the singing for the REAL singers.
