Since last week a teaser of its newest variety show was aired over just after Showtime temporarily ending. Last Friday,  the Kapamilya network has started plugging the promo for the new format of Showtime, showing three animated letters I, T, S before and during commercial breaks. The animated ITS would refer to the new title of the show, named as It’s Showtime.

Over the week end, more and more teaser was plugged for the re-formatted talent show Showtime. In fact, ABS-CBN campaigned aggressively for their new noontime show “It’s Showtime”, contrary to the rumor that the title of the new show is “It’s More Fun in Showtime” as replacement of HYY.

Great if you are proud to say Yes,  I AM A FILIPINO! By claiming that you are a Filipino, loving ourselves being a Filipino will reflect how much we value what we call patriotism or nationalism.  However, do we really need to claim that “I am Filipino” or (in tagalog we claim) Pinoy Ako! Is that important?

Before any thing else, I would like to share to you this… why I wrote this not so very interesting piece… People may say it is a long crap of article… but wait… if this long post does not fit your taste,… you are just too LAZY to read it…

Last night, I am tasked to write an eye catching article about being a Filipino… When they told me that is my assignment… I told my self! Pano kaya to??? Hindi ko alam pano eto simulan.. but any way kung ano ang nasa isip ko yun na yun!!!

Does this post will really interest you? Maybe in your thoughts… “Yay! I don’t have time. I’m very busy… watching my favorite actors and actresses in the Hollywood movies scenes, plus my eyes are glued to the popular TV personalities in the US Television! I only admire American singers and other artist coz they are far more better than Filipino”… they had that so lovely blonde hair… “nang dahil dyan,.. gusto ko rin mag pakulay ng ganung color!!! Yung Blonde!! Basta tatak America eh orihinal, kaya bumibili lamamng ako ng galing sa at gawa sa “Ta-te” (State Side)… I know English very well… and for that reason I want to be called Americano! No. I’m not a Filipino!!! I have the heavens within me?

Hindi nyo ba mahal ang lahi niyo??? Why do Filipinos love to be Americans? Oh why oh why??? Why do Filipinos claim to be Spanish? I don’t understand. EVERY Filipino I know, they tell me… they have Spanish bloodline from their nerves and arteries…. further they say they got the looks, though they don’t appear to be like Spanish… they appear more Asian than Hispanic. It’s difficult for me to believe if they are telling the truth.

Look at Ferdinand Marcos speech before the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) in 1966, he remarked: “I have Chinese blood in me…I am not ashamed to admit that perhaps the great leaders of our country all have Chinese blood.” There’s nothing wrong with it… right???

If ever kung hindi nyo masabi na kayo’y Pilipino… pano pa kaya ang mga anak nyo? papaano pa ang mga apo nyo? apo nyo sa tuhod??? Half-half? 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16…….? Alam mo ba ang kahahantugnan nang buong lahi nyo? Magkaka- identity crisis kayo niyan!

Have you ever heard “I AM A FILIPINO” by Carlos P. Romulo? Here is another great article “I am Filipino. I am a child of the One God who is the Creator of all that is in our world and the universe. My take:

I am a Filipino, a product of two great people(My parents) of Filipino Origin, who’s ancestors are the great Ibanags… who lived in the verdant Valley of Cagayan… they are one of the pioneer in the Land called Rusun known today as Luzon! They traded with the Chinese, Japanese, Malay, Ilokanos, Indians, Tagalogs and other races, intermarried with foreigns because of love and for the sake of peace in the region. After several hundred years they are conquered by the Spanish to accept Christianity and be their subject. Western cultural influences slowly come here and again triggered when Americans came first to free us from Spanish colonial period in the Philippines, and again freed the Filipinos in the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. After that, there are thousands of produced babies!!!

He just finished performing for a show in celebration for annual Bangus Festival in Dagupan, Pangasinan. In fact shortly before the accident the young actor tweeted “On the way home already from Dagupan.Long drive ahead.. Thanks to everybody who watched…” (thanking his fans who attended his show in Dagupan) in his twitter account which he posted around 11:00 p.m.

AJ is set to star in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya this April 30. Prior to this, he  played the main cast role in the TV series Sabel. On Sundays, he joined other ABS-CBN artists on the popular A.S.A.P. variety show where he is part of the boy group “Giggerboys.”

The beautiful girls are competing for the Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism, Binibining Pilipinas-Universe and Binibining Pilipinas-International titles and crown.

Tonight April 10, the winners of the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 will be announced at the Araneta Coliseum where coronation will take place. The event is to be hosted by popular TV-actor Derek Ramsey and TV-actress-commercial model KC Concepcion along with previous  Binibining Pilipinas Winners Miss Philippines Miriam Quiambao and Precious Lara Quigaman. The competition can be watched live on ABS-CBN via livestreaming broadcast.

There are a total of 12 million pesos in cash and prizes will be given away during the grand coronation at the Araneta making it the biggest local national beauty pageant which gives biggest prize in history. There are some Special Awards that will also be given out tonight, which includes Best in Swimsuit, Best in Long Gown, Miss Friendship and Miss Talent.

The notable guest honnors and sponsors that attended wedding ceremony were singer-composer Jose Mari Chan, Filipino singer-actress- TV host Sharon Cuneta, GMA Network Inc.  executives Mr. Felipe Gozon and Ms. Wilma V. Galvante, Viva big boss Vic del Rosario, film producer Mother Lily Monteverde, Kuya Germs, Regine’s manager Ronnie Henares and wife Ida Henares, Manny Pangilinan and more.
