Swiss Andreas Notter, Italian Eugenio Vagni, and Filipino Mary Jean Lacaba were recently abducted by militants suspected of belonging to the notorious Abu Sayyaf groups in Mindanao. These people are volunteers of RED CROSS VOLUNTEERS. As far as I know, there’s this Geneva Convention of sorts that protects humanitarian workers from these kind of insolence.
APPEAL
“I am appealing to the Abu Sayyaf to free those people, because they are neutral in any conflict,” Gordon said. “They do not realise this but these people help them if they get wounded and get them out of the conflict areas.”
